Epic start to a great Alaska REE project

The Alaska Critical Minerals Lab launched a new interdisciplinary research project this week in SE AK. The project aims to develop an ore deposit model for the unique REE deposit on Prince of Wales Island and to link the environmental signature of REEs to the mineralogy. This collaborative University of Alaska Geoscience and Chemistry effort between Drs. Lee Ann Munk, Sean Regan and Jordan Jenckes will provide a new framework for not only unraveling the history of mineralization of the deposit but also the significance of its natural signature to the environment.
